Amid the swirl of plots to depose him, offers of arranged marriages, and the specter of the unknown conspirators who lurk in the shadows, he must quickly adjust to life as the Goblin Emperor. Surrounded by sycophants eager to curry favor with the naîve new emperor and overwhelmed by the burdens of his new life, he can trust nobody. Entirely unschooled in the art of court politics, he has no friends, no advisors, and the sure knowledge that whoever assassinated his father and brothers could make an attempt on his life at any moment. But when his father and three sons in line for the throne are killed in an 'accident, ' he has no choice but to take his place as the only surviving rightful heir. "The youngest, half-goblin son of the Emperor has lived his entire life in exile, distant from the Imperial Court and the deadly intrigue that suffuses it. In fact, Norman Rhodes, Hannah’s second-string beau, may be the only man in Lake Eden Ronni hadn’t tried to bed. Not only Mike, but Hannah’s sister Andrea’s county-cop husband Bill and Lisa’s local-cop husband Herb are barred from the official investigation because they were just too close to the victim. So even though her diet and exercise plan-undertaken in a last-ditch attempt to fit into the Regency dress she ordered for her mother’s book launch-is a drag, her newfound freedom to probe the death of fitness instructor Ronni Ward is a treat, not in the least because Ronni’s demise puts paid to her shameless flirting with every man in sight. But then, she’s not used to having to eat skinless chicken breasts night after night instead of feasting on the treats she and Lisa Beeseman serve up daily at The Cookie Jar. Hannah isn’t used to having her suitor, Detective Mike Kingston, give her amateur investigations his blessings. A new fitness regimen allows Hannah Swensen ( Carrot Cake Murder, 2008, etc.) to exercise her ingenuity along with her abs when she finds a dead body in the local health club’s Jacuzzi. First time a book has given me a flashback to a movie! I loved it! Their first meeting, where Beaux told Tanner "So you're the one, huh?," gave me an immediate flashback to a scene from Top Gun. And boy did Tanner and Beaux's story surprise me. I had not even a hint of what was going to happen with the story line. He's ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to burn out…. But as Beaux’s past begins to put their relationship-and their lives-at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the truth puts them both in jeopardy. Determined to keep her distance, she’s willing to pull Tanner in closer and hide behind the sparks flying between them. With secrets she won’t address, Beaux is far from your ordinary woman. But when he meets his new photojournalist, Beaux Croslyn, he can’t help but feel like he’s losing his focus-and maybe risking more… Needing the adrenaline rush of his job to help him cope with a personal loss, he throws himself back into the game, concentrating all his energy on getting the next big story. From the New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Ache comes a blistering new novel filled with danger, secrecy, and a desire that can’t be sated…įoreign war correspondent Tanner Thomas is addicted to living on the edge. He make it so easy to like him.I love the fact that he was somehow shy, a little insecure and had little experience when it came to sex and relationships that made it more enjoyable. I am so glad the team did not give him a hard time. I really liked Sean a lot, He fit with the team perfectly. With Sean going undercover, and Alexei joining him, let's just say that doesn't go well. This book picks up from where the last one left. This series is just amazing the action part is top notch, edge of the seat kind of scenes. Oh even Sergei in Enemies of the State had me all Giddy. There is something about Russian guys in books that just pull me in, Vadim, Nikolai, Mischa and Alexei. I love, love Alexei, and i am so happy we got his book. Now it was his role as an MDF field operative that was the obstacle. It used to be because of his position with Strike Force, then keeping the fact he was a metahuman a secret. Lust was all well and good, but Alexei always ended up wanting more, knowing that he couldn’t risk it. □Īlexei was the sort of man who liked to feel a connection beyond the physical with the men and women he partnered up with. Greg deserves an Oscar, his voice is AMAZING. At the close of WWII, George Barrow, a reluctant railway transport officer in the occupying army, is powerless to prevent a train crossing the border into Soviet territory due, in part, to the indifference of his superiors who can’t be bothered to check one of the prisoner’s credentials for fear of causing a diplomatic incident. During her first day on the job she meets Sean and joins him at a house party where she's immediately overwhelmed with people and the weirdness of the situation. It immediately flashes back to 18-year-old Cecelia coming to town for the first time to live in her dad's house and work in his factory. Flock is a book I haven't had much interest in reading, despite seeing it hyped constantly on TikTok. Lately, though, I've been reading a lot more romance when I get stuck in a reading slump and I figured it's about time my blog content catches up to my reading preferences. I don't usually review romance when I read it, mainly because it doesn't necessarily fit with the rest of my blog content. Disney+ Hotstar Unveils Hindi Mystery Thriller 'School Of Lies' From BBC Studios In the five years since the Harry Potter film series ended in 2011, its popularity has endured, if not grown: The films play in perpetuity on cable, kids dress up as the characters on Halloween, Quidditch has become a niche intramural sport on college campuses, and worldwide fan conventions take place annually. (In fact, there'll be four more *Fantastic *movies after this one.) But all this fan service-known in more cynical circles as "brand expansion"-has caused the world that Rowling created to sag under its own weight. Fans can rest assured: there's no shortage of new magical creations in the film. And now comes the film adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a fictional textbook Potter and his classmates studied at Hogwarts. In April, its Universal Studios theme park expanded to Hollywood over the summer, a stage prequel debuted in London, with a story courtesy of J.K. 2016 has been the biggest year for the Harry Potter universe since the book series ended in 2007. I liked getting her perspective because it was the only way to see that interaction since Ethan wasn’t there. Gravity Girl in particular was not the way i expected a superhero to act off the clock. The description of them made me wish I could see more of them. We see the other superheroes for a short period in the story and I found myself loving them as well. I felt like my parents would react somewhat similarly if someone took a questionable superhero base. The scene with Ethan’s parents was wonderful. There were some really witty moments as well. I thought the way Ethan saw things was really realistic for someone his age. Starcevic’s writing style. The scenes were set well.I loved the way the characters were described. It’s not something he’s even a little insecure about and I really liked that. Even once he arrives at the superhero training base. Ethan has no qualms about being open about his sexuality in the book. This one felt different than most I’ve read. This one definitely left me feeling happy. Even when they aren’t the happiest stories. LGBT novels with characters that have superpowers make me really happy. Untouchable is in one of the niche genres I am obsessed with. I paused at the halfway point and just wished it could be longer. I wanted more time in this world because I was really enjoying my time in it.I just wanted to magically delay the ending of it somehow. Halfway through I was sad, but only because I knew it was too short. |
